Through and through

On gazing down upon the crowd
That dark Good Friday morn,
Our Lord’s longing soul saved us all,
And thus began a new dawn.
I have no heart to love with now.
Here am I Lord, love through me.
I have no voice to speak with now.
Here am I Lord, speak through me.
No hands or feet with which to serve,
No eyes with which to see,
The tired, hurt, sad and forlorn.
Here am I Lord, care through me.
No way that I can spread my peace
Or create unity,
With hands outstretched to love and give,
Here am I Lord, please, use me.
For now on earth we two are one,
We love, we care, we smile.
And throughout life we both shall be
Together, every mile.
