The sun is setting at close of day,
twilight approaches with gentle haze,
breath-taking sky over peaceful view,
varying shades of golden hue,
deepening stillness, quiet array
of nature’s beauty decidedly fey.
Life’s span is ending, fast flies each day,
natural defences slow down, decay,
love’s clearer sight perfectly blending
patience, joy, hope,
peace and thanksgiving,
calmly accepting all of life’s foibles,
total dependence, thus starts a new day.
