Your train is at the station for the journey we call life,
all is ready now and waiting, destination? Weigh the price.
The wheels are set in motion, the journey has begun
with an air of real excitement, anticipation half the fun.
As you gradually leave surroundings of familiar sights well known,
in search of who knows what, or where, life’s meaning?
Yours alone to seek, to find within, without, fulfilment every day,
not just at the station but on the journey along the way.
When with complete abandon downhill fast we speed,
Unexpected obstacles are cautions to take heed,
Sometimes it’s just plain sailing, the track is level, straight and true,
With time to look around, relax, enjoy the view.
Should you go into a tunnel where all is dark and dim
In reality it’s quicker, so replace fears with a grin,
We catch a glimpse of mountains giving spectacular views,
But the hardest hill to climb is the one in front of you.
As you go along life’s highway where fresh challenges abound,
May your heart and hands be giving and your judgement true and
sound,
For there is many a diversion, broken track or stream to cross,
Where the problems loom enormous and we seem to be at a loss.
But all you need is within you, of that never be in doubt,
Go forth joyfully accepting and learn what life is about.
