Forgiveness

To fail to forgive affects each day
colours our judgement in every way,
makes us all feel lonely and blue,
never quite sure of what to do,
takes the edge off every plan,
isolates from God and man.
The joy and delight we should know
seems far away and long ago,
clouds the present and future too,
for as we think we say and do,
it matters not what they have done,
it’s in ourselves the battle’s won.
To claim forgiveness, we must too,
then only will God’s peace flow through.
