Defenceless, loving, true

Peace on earth goodwill to men
comes the message once again.
Christ the gift by heaven adored,
man to God by grace restored.
Now each day he comes anew
giving afresh, as he wants us too.
As part of the fullness of his heart
each of us must play our part.
Be defenceless, loving, true,
forgiving all as he does too.
Only then open and free
can he be truly one with me.
Tis peace and pleasure to do his will
whatever role he wishes fulfilled.
For only then can Christmas come
into the heart of everyone.
Hope springs eternal within my frame,
Christ’s own living, loving flame.
