Blessed

It’s the people who make the difference,
the friends you call to see,
the family who come to visit
and then stay on for tea.
The places we visit are lovely,
the earth is a wonderful place,
without people, it would be lonely
not to see a friendly face.
The gift of life we’ve been given
we are meant to live to the full,,
to help and care for each other,
to share what we have with all.
For then we are blessed, and a blessing,
as all we give is returned,
abundantly through others,
when nothing is held in reserve.
So smile and befriend the stranger
in need upon our streets,
giving thanks for all we’ve been given,
until our life is complete.
