A Kingdom

What kind of kingdom would it be
which you alone would choose to see?
Who are the people you’d include,
would it be just a certain few?
With rules regulating any din,
at a stated place, all fenced in.
The kingdom of heaven is not on a map,
has no boundaries, nothing it lacks.
It’s made up of people from every nation,
all accepted, whatever their station.
Acknowledging God’s rule in the world,
who simply live to see it unfurled.
It’s leader, with power to still a storm,
always sought to help the forlorn.
Chose to tell a story or so
to help us decide which way to go.
Didn’t care what the establishment thought,
simply to please his God he sought.
As we see, hear and understand
we realise the priceless treasure we have.
To this kingdom of spiritual dominion
many are called, but not all join in.
To be forgiven, and to forgive from the heart,
to live each day as though it were our last.
To do unto others as we would have done
if in their place, we were the one.
To be faithful and constant in all that we do,
leaving to him his power to use.
For each one is of infinite worth
in bringing the kingdom of heaven on earth.
