I awoke to a world of silent beauty
Clothed in a blanket of soft, gentle white.
Creating a bond of overall unity,
Which nature, not man, had worked overnight.
Each tree, plant and bush laden with snow
Expressing it’s beauty with a new kind of glow.
The fretwork on fences with cobwebs between,
Intricate wonder so often not seen.
Stark on the skyline, trees without leaves
Showing their branches with birds nests between.
The excitement of children as they run out to play,
Slipping and sliding with laughter so gay.
This world where we live is a wonderful place,
Each aspect of nature presents a new face
For us to discover, appreciate anew
All that is given, to me, and to you.
