Dawn

It is only after a long dark night

that we truly value the dawn.

For when the mid-day sun is bright

we cease to be still at all.

When life is good and troubles few

we live without worry or care.

But as darkness falls mid troubles anew

it is good to have others there.

Whether family or friends old or new,

we value their presence each day.

Finding when life’s final curtain is due

they walk beside us all the way.

But there’s another dawn much brighter still

that everyone of us will see.

We can glimpse that dawning beyond the hill

when love flows between you and me.

May God’s love and peace be with you all

as you treasure each moment of life.

Should the night  be dark when you hear God’s call

may your dawn hold sparkling light.
